Virtually nothing known of the family in England except the marriage and burial of Christopher. The family in Virginia and of Christopher's Towneley wife is more forthcoming.

Christopher Smith, born 18 March 1592, Stonirakes, Lancashire, England, died 16 April 1638-48. Married Elizabeth Towneley, born c 1598 in Burnley, died 1679.

Major Lawrence Smith, born 29 March 1629 Stonirakes, Lancashire, later of Abington Parish, Gloucester Co., died August 1700 in England. Married (1) 28 September 1652 in Gloucester, Mary Debnam, born c 1635, died c 1675 in VA, (2) Mary Hitchon, born c 1631.

Elizabeth Smith, born 1673 in Gloucester Co., VA. Married John Battaile of St. Mary's Parrish.

Colonel Lawrence Smith [collateral], born c 1657. Married (1) Mildred Chisman, daughter of Captain Thomas Chisman and Elizabeth Reade, daughter of George Reade; (2) Mildred Reade, daughter of John Reade, George Reade's eldest son.
