Helen Glenn Court

Ellyson-Court genealogy (abridged and adapted)

These people came without exception from western Europe during, for the most part, the 17th and 18th centuries. A few are German or Irish, a good many more Huguenot or Celtic, and the vast majority Anglo-Saxon. They came primarily to Virginia, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. Some of them had means, others did not.

Each family entry begins with a short introduction and a generic chart in direct descent. In a few instances, multiple lines of descent are included, either to reflect multiple descent or to cover notable relations. The charts are followed in some cases by wills and other public documents.

All information is sourced, some items more extensively than others, the majority by public record or documented histories, some more loosely than others. All citations are reflected in the bibliography. This online material is a bare-boned version of a 400-page printed work. Supplementary documents are considerably more extensive in the print version.
