Genealogy

Rice/Massachusetts

Edmund Rice arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony about 1638, first documented in Township Book of the Town of Sudbury in the year 1639. No ship's passenger list has survived. Ties to England have been verified, in the form of church baptismal records for his children and his marriage to Thomasine Frost on October 15, 1618. No records naming his parents, whether baptism or other, have yet surfaced, however. The Edmund Rice Association has boldly and publicly proclaimed its satisfaction with colonial history and heritage, and formally dispensed with pretensions at royal descent.
