Reade

The Reades of Hampshire, due primarily to their marriages with the heavily documented Windebankes, are reasonably well known and documented, from George Reade the emigrant forward. The earlier generations, before Andrew who bought the manor at Faccombe, however, are yet to be substantiated. Those reports indicating that Andrew's father was Richard bear little merit in my mind, in large part because the name Richard never appears again. Most unusual, were it true that Richard was Andrew Senior's father.
