John Goddard of Upham was born perhaps 1510 in England, son of Walter Godard de Cherhill, unknown wife, himself the son of John Godard de Cherhill, no specifics, himself the son of John Godard de Cherill, no specifics. Died on Saturday, 10 March, 1545. Married Elizabeth Berenger, daughter of William Berenger.

Thomas Goddard was born at Aldbourne, Wiltshire, the son of John Goddard of Upham and Elizabeth Berenger, and married, before December 4, 1557 Anne Gifford, daughter of John Gifford and Joan Bruges. Will dated June 2, 1594 at Aldbourne. Died in 1598 at Aldbourne. Will proved May 12, 1598.

Edward Goddard Esq died on Saturday, February 9, 1754 at Framingham, Massachusetts, at age 78 years, 10 months and 16 days of a fever epidemic. According to the Boston papers recording his death, he was "a person of very good natural powers, inquisitive and curious genius, industrious spirit, and considerable improvements in both divine and political knowledge, esteemed for sobriety, integrity, judiciousness and piety from his youth......being of so good a character and a very accurate writer and draughter in almost all sorts of instruments, he was in his younger time encouraged to keep a school for writing and arithmetic in Boston, where he behaved himself to great acceptance, contracted and intimate friendship with the Rev. Mr. Bridge... and other serious and solid men...... in whose society he continued and grew in esteem and affection, and with mutual pleasure, till purchasing a farm in Framingham, he thought it best, for the sake of his children, to live upon and improve it. He was many yeas in commission for the peace, nine years chosen and served as Representative for the town in the General Court, and also chose and served three years more in his Majesty's Council for the Provence.... He was one of the greatest and most steady patriots, both of civil and religious liberties, in their largest extent, that ever appeard in the General Assembly in his day."

Luther Goddard, born February 26, 1762 in Shrewbury and married 1784. Working before 1800 as a silversmith in Shrewsbury as the only silversmith in that town at the time; master to Parley Goddard about 1800 in Shrewsbury; master to Daniel Goddard about 1809 in Shrewsbury; working before 1817 with Daniel Goddard in Shrewsbury; working after 1817 as a silversmith, watchmaker and jeweler in Worcester opening a shop on Main Street opposite Daniel Waldo's store. Became a Baptist minister after sons Daniel and Parley took over his business of making and repairing watches and jewelry. Married Elizabeth Dakin in 1784. She was born in 1767 in Massachusetts and died on January 19, 1828 in Worcester.

Martha Goddard, born July 1, 1789 in Shrewbury and died about 1830 in Worcester. Married Elijah Rice.
