

The funeral of Noah Walter Brooks, 82, a native of Boston who had long lived inthe West, was held yesterday afternoon in the chapel of Rosehill cemetery, Chicago. Mr. Brooks, son of the late Williams B and Alvira W Brooks, was educated at the Chauncy Hill school. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the 44th Massachusetts regiment, with which he fought in the Civil War. After his dischage from the service he entered business in Chicago, but for a time was stationed in New York. He had been an officer of the G.A.R. posts in both cities. Mr. Brooks is survived by his widow, a son, two grandsons and three sisters. Miss Antoinette T. Brooks and Miss Agnes A. Brooks of Milton and Mrs. Laura B. Martine of Wollaston.
